Student Housing dorms are located directly in the city center within short walking or driving distance to the lecture halls. Studentenwerk Wuerzburg (Student Housing Office) provides accommodations for foreign students within a dorm.
Exchange students who wish to stay in a Student Residence Hall run by Studentenwerk Wuerzburg must submit an application form by January or June 15. To reserve a dorm, a deposit of 200 Euros has to be transferred to the bank account of Studentenwerk Wuerzburg. Instructions on how to make the payment, as well as details about the bank account are provided in the Housing Application Form. The reservation deposit is non-refundable, but will be applied towards the damage deposit.
Accommodation is available in one of the dorms of the Student Union. Costs vary between 1,116 Euros to 1,680 Euros, plus a damage deposit between 280 Euros to 550 Euros (the reservation deposit of 200 Euros will be applied towards this) depending on the dorm in which you are allocated. Students will be assigned a dorm in either “Zürnstraße 2”, “Zürnstraße 1/3/5/7/9 (Haus Berlin)” and “Friedenstraße (Internationales Haus)”.
Every dorm offers washing machines, dryers and common rooms. Internet access is available (ethernet cable may be required). There are individual apartments or rooms in a shared flat with a kitchen, a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, etc. An optional caretaker package is available in some dorms which provides foreign students with bed linens and household items.
Students can have lunch and dinner at the cafeteria for 3 Euros to 5 Euros per meal. The cafeteria has been ranked as one of the top 3 cafeterias in Germany over the last few years. It offers a great variety of meals, salads, drinks, etc. Unfortunately, there are no meal plans available.
There are two computer rooms at the School of Management where students can use several software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, simulation programs and ERP software programs).
The university library is located on the main campus. Students can easily get there by bus (lines 10, 14, 114 or 214). As a student of Wuerzburg University, all local public transportation is free of charge with a student ID.
