Faculty of Business Management and Economics

Faculty

The Faculty of Economics was founded together with the Faculty of Law in 1968 from the Faculty of Law and Political Science. Currently, the faculty consists of two institutes (BWL and VWL), to which various chairs, professorships, junior professorships, working groups, research assistants and administrative positions are assigned. These provide a broad and research-oriented education for approximately 3,000 students. Studies and teaching at the faculty are designed to teach the theories, models and methods of the economic disciplines of business administration and economics in accordance with the current state of research and the qualification level (bachelor, master, doctorate). Societal, social and environmental impacts are also taken into account. In this context, the ability to make scientific judgments and arguments is of particular importance. More information is available in the faculty brochure.
