Research success: five new publications in leading international journals

14.11.2016

2016 emerges as a very successful year in terms of research output for the Chair of Logistics and Quantitative Methods. Recently, five new research papers authored by the researchers of our team have been published or accepted for publication by leading international journals in Management Science, Operations Management and Operations Research.

Benedikt Schulte – who recently won the dissertation award of the German Society for Operations Research (GOR) – and Richard Pibernik submitted two papers on service differentiation and inventory rationing. One of these papers was recently published in OR Spectrum; another one was accepted for publication by Production & Operations Management, a leading international journal in the field of Operations Management. Philipp Ecken and Richard Pibernik published a paper on the advice-taking behavior of experts in Management Science, one of the most highly ranked journals in the field. A paper authored by Julian Kurz was published in the European Journal of Operational Research. Julian’s research deals with capacity planning and advanced information, and is directly linked to a large EU-funded project (“PRACTICE”) in which researchers of our team work with multiple international companies and research institutions. Finally, a paper addressing “maverick buying”, authored by Alexander Rothkopf and Richard Pibernik was published in the International Journal of Production Economics. Alexander Rothkopf is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Logistics and Quantitative Methods; he received the 2014 dissertation award of the German Purchasing Organization (BME).
