Konstantin Kloos, researcher at the Chair of Logistics and Quantitative Methods, successfully completed his doctoral thesis project. On December 15, 2020, he defended his thesis “Allocation Planning in Sales Hierarchies”. Due to his outstanding innovative work, the board of examiners conferred the distinction “summa cum laude”.

Richard Pibernik receives the “Preis für gute Lehre an den staatlichen Universitäten in Bayern” award for outstanding achievements in teaching from the Minister of Education and Science of Bavaria.

Gründerteam Level3

Two of our researchers – Jan Meller and Fabian Taigel – co-founded Level3, a company dedicated to applying AI in Operations & Logistics Management. With their third co-founder, Dr. Sarah Mehringer, the team secured an EXIST Business Start-up Grant from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Benedikt Schulte, former researcher at the Chair of Logistics and Quantitative Methods, received the 2018 Science Award of the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) for his thesis “Integrated Segmentation of Supply and Demand with Service Differentiation”.

2016 emerges as a very successful year in terms of research output for the Chair of Logistics and Quantitative Methods. Recently, five new research papers authored by the researchers of our team have been published or accepted for publication by leading international journals in Management Science, Operations Management and Operations Research.
