The 6-semester program is divided into individual modules. The first two semesters are the foundation and orientation phase. You will learn methodical basics and acquire a basic knowledge of business and economics. In addition, you will gain a comprehensive insight into central business informatics issues and gain an impression of theoretical concepts that will occupy you in the further course of your studies.

The following ECTS points must be achieved in the orientation phase:

  • 15 ECTS points after the examination periods over the compulsory courses of the first semester.

In the area of compulsory elective modules, you can choose according to your own areas of interest, in which areas you would like to specialize. A total of 50 ECTS points must be completed here, 5 of which must be in a seminar in Business Information Systems or Computer Science. There is a fixed pool of elective modules that change every semester as well as changing additional offers, e.g. from lecturers. In addition, the acquisition of general and subject-specific key qualifications to the extent of 20 ECTS points, such as courses on language and regional studies or the holding of tutorials.

If this requirement is not met, the GOP is failed for the first time and can be repeated once by the examinee acquiring the missing ECTS points from the aforementioned modules at the next possible examination date, usually at the beginning of the following semester. If this requirement is also not met, the GOP is definitively failed, resulting in a final failure of the Bachelor's degree program in Business Informatics.

The student has to pass 50 ECTS points from the modules assigned to the first and second subject semester by the end of the second subject semester. If this requirement is not met, the WKP is failed for the first time and can be repeated once by the examinee acquiring the missing ECTS points from the aforementioned modules at the next possible examination date, usually at the beginning of the following semester, and proving this to the examination office.
