Application

The Master's programms Management, Information System and International Economic Policy can be started at the Faculty of Business Management and Economics both in winter and summer semester.

The Master's programm Management International can only be started in the winter semester.

The application deadlines are as follows:

Winter semester: application by 15 July each year at the latest

Summer semester: application by 15 January of each year at the latest

  • 20 ECTS mathematics, statistics, econometrics (of which 5 ECTS can be replaced by computer science or business informatics)
  • 30 ECTS business administration (15 of which can be replaced by business informatics or computer science or mathematics or statistics or econometrics)
  • 20 ECTS economics (15 of which can be replaced by business informatics or computer science or mathematics or statistics or econometrics)
  • 5 ECTS law (5 of which can be substituted with Business Informatics or Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Econometrics)

  • 15 ECTS mathematics, statistics, econometrics
  • 20 ECTS business information systems (5 of which can be substituted with mathematics or statistics or econometrics)

You need the following ECTS credits for the Master's in International Management:              

  • 20 ECTS mathematcis, statistics, econometrics (5 of which can be substituted with Business Informatics or Computer Science)

  • 30 ECTS economics or business administration or business informatics

Application for the winter semester 24/25

  • Document and information on your university entrance qualification
     
  • Proof of a Bachelor's degree or a degree recognized as equivalent that opens up access to the Master's degree program
    --> If you do not yet have a degree, you have time to submit it by January 2025
    --> Alternatively, we require a transcript of records with at least 150 ECTS points
     
  • Proof of a grad
    --> Final degree grade or current average grade
    --> Management; International Economic Policy; Information Systems --> better than or equal to 2.5 (for International Economic Policy alternatively: GMAT test)
    --> Management International --> better than 2.0 (alternatively: GMAT test)
     
  • Current transcript of records with the required minimum competencies
     
  • Language certificate
    --> B2 certificate in English for the degree programs Management International and International Economic Policy
    --> If you did not obtain your first degree at a German university: B2 certificate in German for Management and Information Systems
     
  • For applicants who did not obtain their first degree in an EU/EEA member state
    --> UniAssist certificate - so-called "VPD" document. Further information can be found on the website of the International Office.
     
  • Curriculum vitae
    --> Applicants with a first degree from Vietnam/China/India: APS certificate

The degree certificate can be submitted by the re-registration deadline for the second semester (for applications for winter semester 24/25: January 2025).

Yes, this is possible. The applications are assessed independently of each other; this means that you are not at a disadvantage if you apply for several degree programs at the same time.

Yes, you can catch up on ECTS points and provide evidence of this in the form of further certificates in addition to your degree certificate. Important: All minimum competencies must be fulfilled at the time of application (for the winter semester: 15.07. / for the summer semester 15.01.). Admission to the Master's program can only be granted once all minimum competencies have been fulfilled.

For the degree programs Management, Information Systems and International Economic Policy, you need a final or preliminary grade point average of 2.5 or better.

For the Management International degree program, a grade point average of better than 2.0 is required.

There is no succession procedure. All suitable applicants are admitted up to an average of 2.5 (degree programs: Management, Information Systems, International Economic Policy) or 2.0 (degree program: Management International).

The number of English modules depends on the individual focus and the degree program.

The language of study for the International Economic Policy and Management International degree programs is English. German modules are the exception here.

Most modules on the Information Systems and Management degree programs are also in English.

For more detailed information, please refer to the subject-specific regulations. The respective examination language for each module can be found in the subject description.

Credit transfer is generally possible, but must be checked on a case-by-case basis.

If you would like to have Master's coursework you have already completed credited, please contact the Examinations Office immediately after the start of your studies for advice on the possibilities.

A stay abroad is possible and is generally recommended by the faculty (not compulsory/voluntary).

You are guaranteed a stay abroad via Erasmus.

Yes, before you start your studies you can get to know your fellow students, the university, faculty and the city during the Master's orientation tutorial and during a program specially tailored for first-semester students by the student council and ADF.  Additional support from tutors in the first weeks of the semester is also guaranteed.
