Study programme
The Master's programme in Entrepreneurship & Innovation is designed to last four semesters and combines projects with sound theoretical knowledge. What makes this programme special is its consistent practical relevance: each semester, you will take part in project seminars in which you will learn about professional practice from different perspectives and can apply your knowledge directly. You will have the opportunity to contribute and develop your own ideas at any time.
In Fundamentals, you will receive a thorough introduction to entrepreneurial thinking and action at the beginning. The modules impart knowledge on topics such as start-ups, growth, financing, marketing and the start-up ecosystem.
Credit: 30 ECTS
From the first semester onwards, you will dive straight into practice-oriented project seminars. These are various independent seminars that accompany you throughout your studies. This allows you to apply your theoretical knowledge to different innovation and start-up processes while further developing your skills in analysis, implementation and teamwork.

In the specialisation modules, you will work on topics such as strategy, innovation, financing and organisational development. You can set your own priorities and focus specifically on the areas of entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and business succession.
The modules open up a wide range of perspectives – from change and project management to digital transformation, e-business and business software to communication and leadership.

In your Master's thesis, you will work independently on a research or practical project. You will apply the skills you have acquired during your studies to address a research question or a practical topic of your choice. The Master's thesis is written in the fourth and final semester.

The Master's degree programme in Entrepreneurship & Innovation always starts in the winter semester of each year. The application deadline for the winter semester ends on 15 July and is made via WueStudy.
To ensure that you and we can be confident that the Master's programme in Entrepreneurship & Innovation is the right fit for you, you will undergo a short aptitude assessment. In about 15 minutes, you will answer a few questions online that will help us assess your skills, experience and interests in the areas of start-ups, business succession and intrapreneurship.
The assessment must be successfully completed in order to secure a place on the programme. At the same time, it is a helpful tool for you to recognise how well the programme suits your personal goals and strengths.
German language skills at level B2
English language skills can be proven by one of the following certificates:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with at least 72 points
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.0 or better
- Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE)
- At least a satisfactory grade in English (equivalent to at least 7 out of 15 points) in the Abitur certificate
- Pearson PTE Academic Test with at least 59 points
- Proof that the Bachelor's degree programme was completed in English (Medium of Instruction)
A semester abroad is a great opportunity to gain international study experience, get to know other cultures and broaden your personal horizons.
During your studies, you have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in the second half of your degree programme. You can choose from our numerous partner universities in other European and non-European countries.
