Innovation Lab
Overview
Would you like to start your own business – but are still looking for a viable business idea and a skilled team? Then apply now for the new practical seminar in the Master’s programme!
Are you passionate about entrepreneurship? Do you want to do more than just learn about start-ups – do you want to work directly on a business idea and perhaps even launch your own start-up? Then the Innovation Lab is just the thing for you!
In this practical seminar, you’ll work directly with a real, innovative team from JMU (e.g. in the fields of chemistry and pharmacy, life sciences, medicine, IT and others) on an innovative start-up idea. Together with the team, you’ll develop a realistic, funding-eligible business plan (e.g. for EXIST). You’ll contribute your business management knowledge and, together with the team, analyse market potential, potential target groups and competitors, design the business model, develop a pricing strategy and much more!
What makes this special:
The idea is not a fictional simulation – it is being actively pursued and is intended to result in a spin-off. You have the unique opportunity to potentially become part of a start-up team launching from the University of Würzburg! At the kick-off, several start-up teams will pitch their ideas to you, seeking your support and your business knowledge.
What to expect:
- Direct collaboration with the founding team and business coaches
- Development of a business model with social impact
- Intensive guidance and support from the Service Centre for Research and Technology Transfer (SFT) and the Chair of Business Administration and Marketing at JMU
- A concrete opportunity to become a co-founder – beyond the seminar
- 5 ECTS credits that can be counted towards various modules (optional)
Target group
This project seminar is aimed at Master’s students with an interest in entrepreneurship and innovation who wish to gain practical experience in the start-up sector. It is particularly suited to students who can envisage contributing to a real start-up idea, applying their business management knowledge in practice, and working with interdisciplinary teams to develop a viable business model. Prior knowledge of start-ups is not essential – what matters most is the motivation to play an active role in the start-up process, analyse market potential and develop entrepreneurial solutions.
